| The forum may be used for any conversation that does not
violate the Terms of Use.
In particular, entering offensive or other inappropriate comments is unacceptable.
Additionally there is an expectation of civility.
A person responsible for dealing with issues of this sort is called
a Moderator. Messages that
cross the line will be hidden by a moderator, who will
then contact the author to give the author a chance to correct the problem.
The overall moderator of the forum is the PRESTO team.
Additionally the webmaster of each group is a 2nd moderator for her group's section of the forum.
Although we have the ultimate responsibility for Terms of Use issues througout the forum,
in general we do not intervene in the group-specific sections of the forum.
In addition to assuring a congenial environment, we try to
help make the community-wide section of the forum an effective information resource, while
at the same time respecting the privacy of each group:
- If a reply to a community-wide topic deserves to be a new topic
in its own right, we will promote it.
- When appropriate, we will integrate community-wide messages
into the general-reference topics and PRESTO-usage topics we provide as a service to the PRESTO community.
- When these situations occur in group-specific messages,
we will contact the group's webmaster and ask for permission to
promote or integrate the material in question.
